Palouse Master Bath Renovtion

Master bath silouette 2.jpg

The master bathroom has decent square footage, but was quite dysfunctional with it's garden tub but no shower, saloon style doors on the toilet space, and only one sink. In keeping with the vintage vibe, we chose a distressed double vanity from Restoration Hardware. In order to make space for both a shower and a tub, as well as to make a functional and private toilet space, we brought the shower's side walls out another 18", and installed a pocket door for the toilet, using one of the stain glass doors removed from the living room as the door. Because the shower's ceiling was a bit low, we vaulted it in order to give it more height and to create a nice architectural effect. The tile wraps all the way around the vanity to give the whole space a more cohesive feel. A custom sliding barn door gives access to the linen closet within the toilet space, and skylight lends extra light for a bright airy feel.
