Palouse Home Remodel

The Palouse home was originally built in the late 1970's by a woman who was an antiques collector. The oak hardwood floors were said to have been sourced from an old southern plantation, as were the hand carved fireplace surrounds, wrought iron gates, and chandeliers in the living and family rooms. Our clients purchased the home in 2017 because they loved the location, the floor plan, and some of its unique features, but felt it needed a generous overhaul. Although the roof and furnaces were in good condition, all the doors and windows needed to be replaced, which took up a large portion of the remodeling budget. My clients elected to "update" the kitchen's look, but save the full kitchen remodel for a later date when they could afford the luxury items they really wanted, and chose to focus on smaller projects that would also make big impact: paint, some floor coverings, light fixtures,
and bathrooms.
